About Ocalt

Ocalt (Pty) Ltd is a South African technology company. We build software platforms, AI systems, and original research infrastructure.

What we do

Ocalt designs and operates a portfolio of technology products across software, platforms, AI, hardware, and research. Every product ships under a single standard: Engineering Magic. That standard is not a tagline. It is the minimum.

Mission

The technology industry has made significant progress. It has also convinced itself that progress is further along than it is. Ocalt exists to close that gap — building systems, platforms, and tools that should exist but do not.

The name

Ocalt derives from the Latin occultum — hidden, not yet revealed. The most consequential ideas in engineering are rarely missing. They are obscured. Our work is to find them and build them.

The Ocaltsmith

Every engineer at Ocalt holds the designation of Ocaltsmith. It is not a job title. An Ocaltsmith does not ship mediocre work. They build systems that appear inevitable in hindsight and impossible in conception. Engineering at Ocalt is an identity.
