Install the OcaltQL Client on Linux
Install the .deb, .rpm or AppImage and connect the machine to your account.
Open OcaltQL ClientSteps
- Go to client.ocalt.com, click Download the client, and download the file for your system and architecture (x86_64, arm64 or armhf).
- On Debian or Ubuntu run: sudo dpkg -i ocaltql-client.deb. On Fedora or Red Hat run: sudo rpm -i ocaltql-client.rpm.
- For the AppImage, first make it runnable: chmod +x ocaltql-client.AppImage, then run ./ocaltql-client.AppImage.
- Open http://localhost:12345 in a browser on that machine.
- Type your Ocalt identity, paste your Ocalt Client key into the key field, and type a Machine alias. Save.
Good to know
- “Permission denied” on the AppImage means the chmod +x step was missed.
- On ChromeOS, turn on the Linux environment in Settings, then install the .deb the same way.
- A server you reach by SSH needs none of this: add it with its SSH login at client.ocalt.com/register and the agent is installed for you.
