Ask Omni to do something

Say what you want in your own words, in as many steps as you like. Each step appears above the field and you work through them one by one.

Steps

  1. Open omni.ocalt.com and sign in.
  2. Type, or tap the microphone inside the field and say, what you want: *create an invoice, email it, wait for a reply, then send me a notification*. Press Enter.
  3. Each part becomes a step in the row above the field. The step you are on opens on the page with everything it needs: the invoice to fill in, the email to check, the presentation to edit.
  4. Fill in what is missing, or say it in the field: while you are on a step, the field speaks to that step (*add a line for design work at 1500*, *change the subject to …*).
  5. Press the arrow with nothing typed to continue to the next step. When nothing is missing, Omni runs them all and shows each result.

What happens next

The + between steps puts a new step at that place; while you are adding, the field's border turns green. The + and camera beside the arrow add a file or a photo, which goes with the next email. If Omni has no protocol for something, it looks through every Ocalt app for a command that does it, and offers the nearest ones instead of stopping. Answers come back as cards made for them: the weather with its sky drawn, money with the rate and a quick converter, a place on a map, a route with every turn, a clock that keeps time. Omni has no AI in it: it reads with its own rules and runs only what Ocalt already has.

Good to know

  • A step after *wait for a reply* runs on its own when the reply comes, even with Omni closed.
  • Pick what Omni should have done when it did not understand, and tick *Remember*: next time the same words do that.
  • Everything Omni makes is kept in Files in the ☰ menu.
