Schedule Omni to run things

Put a time or a trigger in front of what you ask, and Omni runs it on its own: once, again and again, or whenever something changes.

Open Omni

Steps

  1. Start with when, then say what to do: *every morning at 7 get the weather in Cape Town and notify me*, *every Monday at 9 convert 1000 USD to ZAR and email it to finance@company.com*, *tomorrow at 15:00 notify me to call the bank*.
  2. The when step opens first. Choose Once or Repeat, the time, and for repeats how often: every few minutes or hours, every day, chosen weekdays, or every week. Omni shows the next runs on a timeline, in your own time.
  3. For a trigger, say *when https://example.com/prices changes notify me*, *when I get an email from orders@shop.com notify me*, or *when the file /root/reports/today.csv appears email it to me*. Choose how often Omni should look.
  4. Continue. The steps after when are not run now: Omni puts them on the calendar or on watch and shows Scheduled.
  5. For a quick reminder, say *remind me to send the quote at 4pm* or *remind me in 20 minutes to check the oven*.

What happens next

Open Schedule & events in the ☰ menu to see every schedule and trigger Omni made, with when it runs next, how its last run went, and Remove. The same page shows your calendar for the week: say *add Planning with the team to my calendar on Friday at 10*, or *what is on this week*.

Good to know

  • Only steps that need no one there can be scheduled: answers, notifications, emails, documents and files. A step that needs you, such as editing a presentation, is pointed out before anything is saved.
  • Times are in your own time zone; Omni converts them for the server.
